I was here about a week before Christmas, so they had a special Christmas-themed performance which also included a choir, and a dance group. Tried my luck at the box office and was fortunate enough to get a ticket for a performance that same day. Really enjoyed myself here. The music, the orchestra, the singing. It really made my evening... More

We have series tickets to the CSO every year ... I look forward to our trips down to the city. The center is gorgeous, the ushers sooo friendly. And easy parking is just under ground outside the door! Everyone should take in some music here when visiting.

Ravi Shankar. Milton Nascimento. Joshua Redman. The Count Basie Orchestra. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The list goes on and on. We've seen and heard so many, many outstanding artists and performances. Easy to get to by taking the Metra into the Ogilvie Transport Center and then taking the #20 bus as close to Michigan Avenue as the driver will drop... More

This was my first time at the Symphony and it was a great experience. The CSO has a great set up if you arrive late (which I did). They put you in the main ball room with a big screen TV displaying the current CSO piece. After the piece is over they usher you to your seats. The CSO performance... More

The Orchester has been rated one of the 2 best in the world, for decades (the other is Berlin), but with it's current Music Director, Ricardo Muti, there is the best rapport between conductor and instrumentalists that I've seen in my 50 years of attending classic orchesters in US, Canada, and Europe.

Attended a classical(Indian) show & had box tickets. The view was excellent from the side but would have hoped for a view across from the performer. CSO has the best sound system for single performer shows and so the experience is even more enhanced. Entrance can get a bit crowded before & during the break of the show if its... More

Check with the box office, as they'll often have a few last minute tickets for a program you'll enjoy. The Chicago Symphony is awesome, and some of their specialty programming, like Beyond the Score or their Movie Music series are really a lot of fun. Casual clothes are OK, though people often dress up. Great programs!!
