It's a bit of a trek from Springfield, but worth it if you are really interested in Lincoln. Ample parking and admission is FREE. Series of log cabins, mill, etc for viewing. Lots of walking, so wear comfortable tennis shoes. Pack a picnic and eat in the nice picnic area. We visited on a special event weekend and it was... more

My husband and I just returned from Springfield and spent 4 hours at the museum. We loved it! It's simply NOT possible to see everything in 1 hour as another reviewer suggested.
