I would have to say as Army posts go it is nice enough. There is a good Popeye's Chicken restaurant and several displays of historical artillery equipment. But I wouldn't recommend many military installations as a tourist destination in and of itself.
Dirty Base and full of rude and intolerable soldiers. Sad to say that these are "our" United States Soldiers fighting for our country. This must be where they send men and women to fall in a black hole, b/c that is what Fort Riley is due to its soldiers.
If you want to relax with the family go ahead to Milford's Lake. It is a beautiful scenery and peaceful atmosphere.
The U. S. Cavalry Museum is located on the Fort Riley Military Post.
