I had to come here to see the large collection of space underpants! This place was a amazing, from the Atlas at the front, the SR71, T38 and Endeavor Shuttle in the hall through to the lunar replicas. You can opt for different tickets to include shows at the IMAX and planitarium but ancient greece didn't interest me so I... more

My husband and I purchased the ticket to do all of the attractions at the Cosmosphere (the museum, Dr Goddard's lab, the planetarium, and the imax). I would recommend getting this ticket if you're going because it's a great deal and you can do all in one day. I enjoyed Dr. Goddard's lab the most. It was great to see... more

The museum is outstanding. It starts you on a trail that explains the origins of the space race, to the cold war, to the Mercury program, to the Gemini program, to the Apollo launches including the Lunar landings. There are story boards explaining each exhibit in great detail. It is very educational. The absolute topper is that the Apollo 13... more

Who knew that Kansas has the BEST space museum ever! This might be better than the exhibits at the Smithsonian. Certainly, they have the best and most complete exhibit of Russian artifacts, plus a terrific collection of rockets, space memorabilia, and a complete explanation of the history of the space race. Plus an IMAX theater and a planetarium. We went... more

The Cosmosphere covers the history of rockets and space flight from World War II through Apollo and does a great job doing it. It includes information on both the US and USSR space program as they competed in the space race. It has lots of artifacts including a V-2 rocket, Liberty Bell 7, the Apollo 13 Command Module, and a... more

Kansas sometimes gets a bad rap as being "flat" and "uninteresting," but I've found many surprisingly great places in my years of travel through this state. The Cosmosphere in Hutchinson is one of the best. I was taken there by a relative living not far away, and honestly (having never even heard of the Cosmosphere!) didn't expect much...I was so... more

We like the US Space Program and on a recent month long trip to Southern US we first visited the Stennis Center in Mississippi where all rockets going into space are tested. We were on our way to the LBJ Space Center in Houston and enjoyed seeing the training for the International Space Station. In Houston we were told about... more
