This is a world-class history museum, tarnished only by the state's effort to save money by closing the place to tourists who bring $$ to Kentucky three days per week.

This is a great stop for Central Kentucky travelers. It's on Broadway in downtown Frankfort, KY. You will be taken from prehistoric times to fairly current events. Weaponry, art, building materials, clothing, all sorts of items that have been used in Kentucky are extensively displayed along with narratives. The location is great as there are many restaurants, a coffehouse, gift... More

This is a fun place to visit. Plenty of interactive exhibits for the kids and interesting enough to hold the adults attention as well.

Learn about KY and wildlife. Go to the ponds and look for fish. Best in the spring through fall.

Volunteers and staff were very good in helping me find the files and books I was looking for and in suggesting others that might be helpful for me.

The history center was great, but the tour of the Old State Capitol that leaves from the center was a real treat. The tour guide took extra efforts to make it worthwhile. She told interesting stories about the history of Frankfort and the region. This is well worth the visit.
