We went in June. Touring the Horse Park was okay but nothing to get that excited about. Our six year old daughter loved petting the horses and the shows we saw were just okay, not great. The best part was paying the extra and taking the horse farm tour where you get to go to several different horse farms along... more

Watch the clock when you decide to visit the KY Horse Park. You don't see horses in the mid to late afternoon. We arrived at 2 PM, walked through the International Museum of the Horse (old tired exhibits) and then went to see the horses. It was about 3 PM and they were all in the paddocks. We saw exactly... more

We had only one day to spend in Lexington and choose to visit the KY Horse Park. My kids are 10 and 6, and I choose this attraction mostly to satisfy them. However, the exhibits are geared toward a more mature crowd. There is a lot of horse racing history there, complete with trophies, artifacts and detailed displays. My kids... more

Let's face it, you'd best be a horse lover to spend a day at a working horse farm. My two daughters hope to grow up to be trainers, so they loved it. The rest of us, ie. the horse tolerant, enjoyed the museum, and really enjoyed the demonstrations, but just wandering the grounds looking at horses...not that great. Highlights did... more

We just returned from Lexington where in addition to other activities, we visited the Kentucky Horse Park. I've read other reviews from people who thought it was targeted to horse people. We are avid horse people and we thought the opposite. We think it's a more for people who don't know horses. We saw one of the shows, the parade... more

Since the name of the place is the Kentucky Horse Park, I am just wondering what these disappointed travelers expected? Um, a working farm is not a built in babysitter and like all farms, children must be supervised for their own safety! While there are some things I would perhaps organize differently (horse and pony rides and better dining choices... more

This is for the horse fan, not just someone warm to horses. It was great to see the cups won by the Derby winners and such, but not much here for the kids to do. Go on a day when some event is happening. The pony ride is better then the pony ride at the fair. The pony is lead... more

We have gone to the horse park for the christmas light show for years but this was our first time during the day. My 2 year old daughter LOVES horses so this was the perfect place for her. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law were visiting from Wisconsin so they joined us and loved it too. We went in March and the... more

I'll say up front that this is a place for people who like horses, who want to see horses and know more about horses. It's -all- about horses. If you are just looking for generic thrill rides, and don't care about horses, it could be a little dull. But if you like horses, it will be anywhere from interesting to... more

This is a great place for any avid horse lover. There is a wide variety of things to see and do at the park. You can take in a show, visit the museum, or visit many of the other educational parts of the park. The International Museum of the Horse is a must see, although be aware, in preparation for... more
