We have visited here 2 times in 3 years and recently the visit was their candlelight tour held every year on the first 2 Saturdays in December. Their site is immaculate, first rate tour-very nice. The first time we visited the gift selection was great, this last time, they have cut way back and we were dissappointed. Both times we... more

Well worth the drive, from Bardstown, to see this operation. The second distillery to see on this trip, more information on how to make a fine Bourbon. Our tour had a large group, some of whom were ambassadors of Maker's mark.I had never tried their product and did enjoy the tastings. Our hostess was very good, polite and informative, especially... more

Even if you don't like bourbon, this tour is well worth the trip. The tour guide made everything very interesting. My teenagers even enjoyed it. There's a lot of science behind brewing, which was great for the kids to see. The distillery is set on a beautiful piece of land with a stream running through it. One of my favorite... more

My husband and I are pretty die-hard "beer snobs" but enjoy learning how other beverages are made. While on vacation in the Louisville area this week, we decided to visit Maker's Mark. What a treat! The grounds are beautiful. The tour was great. We got to go into the actual production areas and the guide was verry knowledgeable. All of... more

This tour incompasses all aspects of the distilling process and you actually get to see the bourbon fermenting. At the end of the tour, you have the opportunity to hand dip your own bottle (which you've purchased) in the trademark red wax. The grounds and buildings are absolutely beautiful. Very scenic and rural. A first-class operation all the way. more

A Maker's Mark brochure says that they love company--and when you show up, they really make you feel like they're glad to see you! This is an exceptional tour, and I highly recommend it. It takes about 45 minutes, and you get to see some of the beautiful grounds as well as see the whole process of making bourbon, from... more

I agree with the other reviewers that the tour is worth the extra mile and is the one to do if you only do one tour. You see the entire bourbon making process and the tour guide was very firendly. The grounds are beautifull. The only negative was the overpriced bottles of Maker's Mark in the gift shop. Several dollars... more

I was not expecting to like this tour as much as I did. It was my husband's idea. I don't even drink bourbon! But it was a lot of fun. The family house where the tour starts is set up like a museum, and we had cookies and lemonade while we walked around before the tour. Herb was our tour... more

This is worth the trip for young and old. Unlike some of the other bourbon distilleries, this one shows you more of the process including getting to stick your finger in and taste the sour mash. (Sounds unsanitary until you think the alcohol level). If you buy a bottle at the end of the tour (which is not marked up... more

This distillery is truly off the beaten path. Glad we had the GPS (although there are brown signs to help you find it). We got on the last tour of the day and the employees were so upbeat. It is well maintained and although we did not see the actual wax dipping (they had finished early in the morning and... more
