Lovely to see from afar, and very touching when you get up close.

Lovely to see from afar, and very touching when you get up close.
History portrayed beautifully on the city’s flood walls. Very unique, and a nice little stroll downtown. Plus, it’s free – so you can’t beat that deal :-) There is also an old train on site, which the children love.
These murals are incredible. The details in each will keep you looking and going back many times. The history of the region is recorded in a beautiful manner. The just go behind the murals for the Riverwalk. A great day trip...then you can hit the antique shops and other Paducah delights.
Each mural tells a part of Paducah history. Very interesting.
The flood waters were catastrophic at the time they took their toll on Paducah and the area surrounding Paducah. The floodwall murals were born of this experience.
We spent quite a while looking at each painting and then touring the river front.
Saw these online and thought we'd drive by them real fast on the way out of town, but we really enjoyed a beautiful spring Sunday morning in the area driving around and looking at history.
A very nice way of learning the history of the town.
Paducah has done a fabulous job of reviving their downtown --- especially during the summer when they have live music at numerous corners throughout downtown! Eat dinner downtown, listen to some music, stroll along the river and check out the murals. It's great for families, couples, anyone!
Interesting to follow the murals as you walk along the riverfront...
