I went to the quilt museum to see and learn about the history of quilts but was dissapointed to only find it to be a art gallery full of art quilts.There was no history on quilts on display there.Though there is an artist who carves quilts out of wood.These sculptures by Fraser Smith are a must see! You don't have to be a quilter to appreciate the beauty and workmanship of the quilts on display at the museum. The exhibits encompass a core collection of quilts with rotating exhibits of other quilts - such as miniature quilts or quilts from Japan and Europe. I went to the museum with a friend. We are both non-quilters but perhaps crafty in our own way. The staff there were very friendly. First off, let me say that I'm not a quilter. But we do reside in Paducah and we take everyone that comes to town to visit us for a weekend to the museum.
