When Loretta Lynn belted, "Well, I was born a coal miner's daughter/In a cabin on a hill in Butcher Hollow," it not only skyrockted "The Queen of Country Music" to additional fame outside the realm of country music fans, but it merited her the everlasting respect of every person connected directly or indirectly with coal mining or mountain life. Visit Butcher Hollow, located in scenic Johnson County. Loretta's brother, Herman Webb, is curator of the Butcher Hollow Home. « less

Herman is such a nice man, he showed us around inside the house and we spent at... More

For our region, its of historical importance and is often visited, but going once will satisfy your desire. The best part is the interaction with her brother who runs the near-by store.

Three of us girls went to Butcher Hollow and met Herman Webb , Loretta Lynns brother. He is such a nice man! He showed us through the cabin and talked to us as though he knowed us all our life. This was a great get away for us. Great trip from Circleville,Ohio and will be going back someday!

Its something you do once. You.ll enjoy. And you can autograph mommy's bedroom wall. Herman webb still refers to her as mommy...thought that was neat.

I've been twice and enjoyed it. The frist time there it was just Herman and myself and I stayed there a while, just talking to him .I just love being there close to where Loretta Lynn was born.I've been a fan since the early 60's.I 'm crazy about her.
