day hiked the Rough trail in Red River. 8.2 miles, forded several creeks, two had to wear sandals and others could walk through. Rained a bit but was warm, great terrain if you want to get away from the crowds. Hiked to Courthouse Rock on Sunday off of Tunnel Ridge Road. 80 deg $ sunny, great trail, several spots were... More

A really special place. There are more natural arches here than any other place east of the Mississippi. Approach the Visitor Center via the Nada Tunnel. Staff at the Gladie Cultural-Education Center (3451 Sky Bridge Road, Stanton, KY) are very helpful; good maps and expertise.

We exited the Mountain Parkway at Slade (exit 33) and drove north to highway 77 where we passed through the Nada Tunnel.... More

This is a beautiful location, only an hour's drive from Lexington. Many lovely trails, lookouts, and arches to explore, and the fall color is truly gorgeous.
