This is a plantation house built in the creole style - it was meant to be a working farm, not the principal residence of the owners. The history of the women who ran the place for a couple of hundred years is fascinating. more

I was at Laura Plantation today. We first went to Oak Alley since we had limited time and had a flight to catch. Drove past Laura and it didn't look like a Hollywood movie set plantation, so we continued on to Oak Alley first. The setting of Oak Alley is beautiful, live oak trees are breath-taking.
