we just spent 3 nights at the Camden Hills State Park campsite in a large RV...wonderful stay; beautiful, private sites...loads of things to do in the area....dinner at Atlantica was wonderful....good food, reasonable prices....The downtown area has a variety of nice shops...nearby attractions not to miss are the towns of Rockport and Rockland....lighthouse at Marshall point is awesome...great museum there...also... more

Make sure to take some of the trails because the views down to the Harbor in the village fo Camden are spectacular and offer the Maine you think of with the boats in the harbor. more

We stayed at the Mt Battie Inn just down the road from the entrance. Drove up to Mt Battie and that is a must see. Make sure you come back at sunset too. Also took the hike up Megenticook (about 1 mile) some rocks and a little steep but we're from Colorado so nothing serious. Got to the top and... more

The drive to the top is steep but not really long. You can also park and hike through the park, but we chose to just go up to the top. There is a breathtaking view of the harbor and the surrounding hills as a reward! The stone tower provides an even finer perspective. Pet friendly and a great place to... more

I was headed to the Camden area at the beginning of August for the annual Lobster Festival in Rockland, ME. I initially planned to stay in a local B&B but to my dismay, everything was booked!
