I have sailed on The Lewis French and The Isaac Evans. Both windjammers have excellent crews, food is the best in the world, and every day there is a different place to exlore. Highly recommend.

We sailed on the Surprise! The Captain and his wife were very friendly and informative. The sail was absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. It was one of our favorite activities in Maine.
On a summer day in midcoast Maine one of the most delightful and memorable experiences you can have is an afternoon sail on one of the historic windjammers based in Camden's charming harbor. A personal favorite is the Windjammer Surprise. Captain Jack and Barbara Moore are wonderful hosts with a deep knowledge of the area. The Penobscot Bay is simply...

We have sailed on the Mary Day for 5 summers in a row now, and plan to sail on her again in 2012. We keep coming back to this boat for a number of reasons:
1) The boat is immaculate !..it appears that the boat gets a complete overhaul every winter and you can really see how well it is...

We booked a 4 nights trip and actually got a 2 + 2. Because of the economic downturn (I guess), we were the only guests booked on the Mercantile leaving on wednesday. Luckily we were rebooked on the Grace Bailey and were dropped on an ongoing cruise. This way we got to see Rockport which is actually very cute. The...

We enjoyed every aspect of the sail. The Mary Day is a beautiful Schooner. It is well maintained by the owners and staff. The food served was delicious. The time spent on board was pleasurable, beautiful. It was both exciting and relaxing, you could make of it any kind of experience you choose.
The J and E Riggin, one of the Maine windjammers, is an excellent experience. You get to haul on lines, raise the anchor and join in the fun of making a historic vessel work. The food is amazing and all cooked on a wood stove. Make sure you are comfortable climbing ladders, hauling and walking on unsteady decks. Great for...

Captain, crew, and shore personnel were great! It rained, then it rained some more, then the wind blew up a gale, then the sun came out and it got cold. This cruise is for rugged individuals who are not disturbed by close quarters, endless climbing of ladders between decks, pump toilets and shower, hard bunks, and no storage. If there's...
