Perfect little beach near Portland for a walk, especially if staying at Inn by the Sea.

This mile long crescent shaped beach is only a 15 minute drive from Portland, so for me its right in my backyard. This is my second visit to Crescent Beach SP but the first time the beach was open with lifeguards and facilities. What a lovely place to spend a day. Crescent beach is a great family beach. It has plenty of shoreline to walk with nice sand along with some big rocky areas to explore. There is never a shortage of parking and it usually isn't too crowded. It's nice in the summer sun, but also fun to go to on a cool fall day.

If you are looking for a beach close to Portland, this is it. The sand is fine, and the beach was not too crowded. Clean and safe for children.
