We went on a kayaking trip while I was in town with some friends, and it was a blast! The staff was very nice and they even offered us a free lunch!

Low key, non judgmental, great way to try equipment and new experiences. The Bean personnel are professional, friendly and genuinely like what they do. Highly recommended

My wife and I wanted to discover kayaking without spending a lot. For $20, this is the best kayak learning experience you can find. It was a very well run tour. We learned a lot and plan to go back for the next level of kayak tour with Bean. Our only issue is that you should call in advance to... More

Our family did both kayaking and archery. Both were terrific experiences. They provide everything needed. Instruction was super and each of us was made comfortable. We all had a great time - my husband is an experienced outdoors person, I am a reluctant novice and our teenager is a daredevil. So, they managed to please a wide range of personalities.... More

Did the clay shooting and archery, very reasonable in price and well worth trying out. My wife had never shot a gun in her life but was chuffed to bits to hit a clay! Make sure you book in advance, they tend to fill up quickly. Although because you do not pay a deposit some people failed to show, this... More

Did tandem kayak with 8 yr old who LOVED it! Her favorite thing of our trip to Maine. 2 hr time was just right. Bug spray and sun screen and boat shoes available was nice touch. Great value!

We've been waiting years for our son to turn 12 so we could take the "Kayak 1" full day class, where you learn how to save yourself if - or when - you overturn your kayak. Our son was soooooooooo nervous, but the guides (Kevin & Mo) were fantastic, and when he was done with his solo & paired rescue,... More

We were with friends over an weekend and attended several walk on adventures at the LL Bean Outdoor Discovery School in their flagship store. This one is their sporting clay shooting taught by Dennis and Del. There were 10 of us, 5 adults/parents and 5 young adults/children, and naturally we broke up into 2 groups, the cool group (adults)...and the... More

Casco Bay is breathtakingly beautiful and kayaking is so much fun ... LL Bean nearly ruined it with a rat's nest of corporate cya and more talk than teaching. Our 4 hour fall foliage kayak tour started with well over an hour of legal warnings ( while still on land) complete with one of the participants being asked to initial... More

We signed up for the guided sunset kayak tour and it was everything that we were hoping for and more. Because of the excellent and patient guides, we were able to fully participate in this tour even though we had no prior kayaking experience. We plan to do this again!!
