Most of the museum is geared to children aged one to 11, but young teens will like the computer lab and the camera exhibits. There's also a play area just for toddlers. « less

Walking in we saw immediately that all of the kids there were younger than my six-year-old daughter. She wanted to leave but I insisted we try it. In the end she had a lot of fun because she found another girl (4 1/2) to play with. But I don't think we'll go again next time we visit Portland.

We had fun with kids under 8 at the museum recently. With 2 floors packed (and I mean packed) with activities like a mock farm, rocket ship, saw mill, grocery store, fire truck, boats, and more, you can easily spend 4 hours letting the kids run. Bring a picnic lunch and eat in the downstairs "cafe" for a break. Go... More

The museum is fun and interactive. It entertains while educates children. The children I've taken have loved that they can touch and play with exhibits and there are very few things that are not to be touched or handled.

A separate area for toddlers, crawlers. Numerous activities--like a grocery store and an ATM (be an employee operating the cash register or be a customer filling your basket). Special events. Makes me wish I was a kid.

Absolutely a must stop with small children. Then entice them to stop in at the Portland Museum of Art next door. Ask them about the fun 'animal hunt' kids can participate in

everything is hands on, even the adults feel like they are children again. You move seemlessly through the rooms and everything is different. AMAZING

Kids have a great time here with hands on exhibits geared toward many different ages. They also have a great theater on the ground floor, where they put on wonderful plays for kids and starring kids. If you are traveling to Portland with children definitely check out this place.

Went to the Children's museum with our two grandkids and we all had a great time. They loved it. It's one of the best children's museums we've been to.
