Longfellow's house is full of original items owned and used by Longfellow and his family. The house is nicely restored. Our guide was knowledgeable and went at just the right pace. An extremely enjoyable tour- highly recommended!

A must see if you are in Portland, Maine. This is where Longfellow grew up and where he wrote many of his poems. House stayed in the Longfellow family until passed on to the Society which maintains it today.

Very informative group tour of a fascinating house. Nice gardens being renovated. Good displays in the museum on Maine history but we felt that more should be made of Longfellow's poetry. You only go thru on a guided tour. Buy the tickets next door at the visitor center/museum. They have AAA discount on tickets. Tours were given on the hour & half hour & lasted about 1 hr.
