Friend heard about this place from the Times, headed over for a tasting (I'd never tried mead before). The place was cool--lots of neat merchandise and goodies. Loved the complimentary tasting; the lavender will be perfect in the summer, but brought home a couple bottles of the blueberry and semi-sweet. Glad I can buy this back home and can't wait... More

My husband and I visited Maine Mead Works yesterday and I was very impressed. My idea of mead was something very heavy and sweet. This was not the case here. They had a very large selection of mead for us to taste, all of which was very good. It was slow, so we got a private tour of the facility... More

The tasting room at Maine Mead Works is open all day, but I highly recommend going for a tour before your tasting.
