worth a visit to a very historic site on the water. There is no downside..free ample parking, memorial plaques explaining the site..a lovely walk, a lovely place to picnic.

Fort Phoenix offers a no cost, mini get-away to all. We had a walk and picnic at Fort Phoenix beach and park. We walked on the hurricane barrier and viewed the waves in the harbor.

This is a great spot to visit if you want to have a picnic, fly a kite, or play tennis. There is the beach with a playground for the kids. The views are spectacular and you can easily spend a few hours here.

Found this park on the DCR (Department of Conservation & Recreation) parks map that is provided with our annual pass.
