The Crow's Nest is truly a local fisherman's bar. It is plain and simple but the staff and the locals are friendly. The bar seen in the movie "The Perfect Storm" was a set created by Hollywood on one of the many wharf's. In real life these brave fishermen and women do drink at the Crows Nest on Main St.... More

If you go for the feel of the pictures from 'The perfect storm', forget about it. But 'The Crow's Nest' is still worth a detour. I went all the way from Boston, just to see the Port of Gloucester, where the Andrea Gail left for her fatal voyage to the Grand Banks and I wanted to find the bar they... More

This is where the locals drink in Gloucester. Made famous as the Bar the crew from the Andrea Gail, aka the fishing boat from the Perfect Storm, frequented. The walls are plastered with maritime photos and artifacts; and skeleton parts of various creatures from the deep. Guests can play live Keno or bet on animated horse races; or test your... More

This place is a pit. It's okay for a quick stop just to see it during the day. Generally wouldn't recommend going there at night if your from out of town.

During a recent visit to Rockport/Cape Ann, Mass. my husband & I took a quick drive to Gloucester. We first stopped at the Fisherman's Memorial - a touching tribute to so many who have lost their lives doing what they love. Def worth a visit. Nearby was The Crow's Nest, where the movie, The Perfect Storm, was filmed. I wasn't... More

Stayed at the Crows nest July 7,2011 and had a great time. The rooms are pretty basic, but very clean and you don't go to Gloucester to stay in a hotel room! The bar itself is a throw back to the corner bar of the 60's and 70's, the staff are great and can't do enough to make your visit... More
