Breathtaking on a dismal day! That whole road is a beautiful drive! The road is marked "private", but access is granted to the lighthouse. There is a small parking area.

This is a great destination for birding, the views & fishing--fishing from the breakwater is relaxing & fun. But there is no access to the lighthouse, which is now a private residence. Nearby is an Audubon wildlife sanctuary, and Audubon owns the parking lot at the lighthouse. Note that the breakwater is public & permits fishing; the wildlife sanctuary, just... More

You can't get too close to or go in the light house but there's a great breakwall right there that you can walk way out on to get a great view.

What a beautiful New England site! A great place to walk the jetty and to watch people fishing. The lighthouse is a New England landmark and for photographers a special place for photography - a view of the ocean and the Boston skyline included

Call me nostalgic, but there is something about a Lighthouse...probably my days in the Navy, or knowing that many men have passed this one on their port, never to see it again on their starboard (think Andrea Gail - Perfect Storm). I was amazed that this beautiful sight is actually a private residence. Seriously...I am wondering how I can get... More

A sight not to be missed , guarding the Gloucester inner harbour. On the end of the 1/4 mile long "Dog Bar Breakwater" is a second " Spider lighthouse " . A de- commissioned Coast Guard station is located at Eastern Point , as well as great ocean views and the opportunity to watch Gloucester lobstermen at work.
