if you could only visit one place in Gloucester, this is is definitely it. Exhibits of priceless paintings
This is a lovely, albeit small, museum in the heart of downtown Gloucester. It celebrates Gloucester's maritime history and has wonderful exhibits depicting the most courageous and meaningful events in Gloucester's long fishing tradition. Fitz Henry Lane is Gloucester's most recognized artist and many of his works are housed here. Gloucester has natural lighting, granite formations and a working harbor...

The Cape Ann museum is a cute little museum which has some great pieces. However, its quite small and you shouldn't except to spend more than an hour here during your visit.
