Unique area of Martha's Vineyard...historical-originated with the celigious cam meetings in the middle 1800's. Lot's of history and very walkable. Very laid back, great for people-watching. Decent shops, great but expensive ice cream. Very crowded in the summer but that's part of the fun. Safe for teens on their own.
Love to spend the day shopping on circuit Ave whenever Im on the Vineyard. Lots of fun little shops to poke around in, scattered with some wonderful places to eat or get and Ice Cream!
Circuit Avenue is quaint and homey. The shops are lovely, offering a wide variety of jewelry, clothing and other things. Sure, they have the usual souvenirs, but there are many other stores as well. Have ice cream at Mad Martha's, it's to die for.
Loud, crowded, traffic-clogged and stores that are pretty indistinguishable one from the other. Staff at the stores seem dis-interested and worn out. Avoid this place and head to Edgartown for shopping instead.
I always go to Circuit Ave when I take my annual vacations to The Vineyard. This has something for everyone, literally. And its close to lots of other stuff including hotels, the beach, coffee shops, fudge, icecream, specialty shopes, etc. etc. Whether you are looking for a cup of coffee or a military type specialty shop (Trader Jack's), get to...

We enjoyed Oak Bluffs. There are alot of restaurants to choose from, and shopping to be done. The Lampost is fun for dancing and nightlife, Off shore Ale has great beer and the Sidecar has great appetizers. If you are into exercise there is a great little gym (B-Strong) on the flip side of Circuit Ave (Kennebec Ave). Best of...

You can find just about anything here, from clothes, Martha's Vineyard Memorabilia and staples, to fine dining and multiple sources of great ice cream or chocolate. We recommend Mad Martha's, the Island House Cafe (sit on the porch), and Bill & Bens Chocolate Emporium. (Mostly because we've been to those places and got the goods, though I'm sure some of...
