The icing on the cake are the period costumed actors who never left the 1600's, they really made the experience 'pop'! Hordes of school children were shuffled through while were onboard, but we were patient and let them pass. The ship itself is fun to investigate, too. more

We went to Plymouth with our 2 kids who were 7 and 9. The Mayflower II was a hit just because of getting to go on a real sailing ship. What interested me was seeing how incredibly small it was - it was hard to imagine families sailing across the Atlantic in such a tiny boat. The real Plymouth Rock... more

This is the thing to see when going on a trip to New England. My daughters can now say that they have seen it. But that's about it. I wish that there were some educational reading materials on the boat - a sign or something to say what everything was. There were staff located throughout but I wasn't gonna say... more

We toured the Mayflower II during a recent stay in Plymouth. It is a short tour, taking only about 30-45 minutes to go through. There are guides "in character" on board to answer questions. The person playing Shipmaster Jones was great to listen to. He obviously really gets into playing his role. He was informative and very entertaining at the... more

There's a small area in front of the ship that you walk through with some good information but nothing special. The Mayflower II, a replica ship, is now over 50 years old on its own right and is fun to walk around on and explore but its not organized. You've got reenactors or in our case only one reenactor who... more

The ship itself is quite interesting. It is quite startling to see the cramped conditions. It's great that there is a replica ship. What irritated me about this experience was the English West Country accent used by all of the actors. When you take the time to look at the display you see that none of the passengers on the... more

Plymouth Plantation and the Mayflower II were the main attractions to be visited during a family trip. My mother-in-law, an amateur Pilgrim expert, was very disappointed by the revisionist history being presented by the costumed tour guides on the Mayflower. Many questions she asked, for the childrens' sake, taken from William Bradford's own writings, were answered incorrectly. Will no longer... more

Was here on a Monday afternoon, 25JUN07. Remember that this is a replica, but even at that it is 50 yrs old this yr. It gives you an idea of what little space was available to the familes on that original voyage. & how much they had to go thru on the voyage. Listen to the stories of the re-inactors.... more

"Residents" of the ship are credible and very knowledgable. Interact with them and enjoy their stories. Visit Plimouth Plantation as well and make a great day of it. You can purchase a discounted ticket for both attractions. Plymouth Rock nearby is a bit of a disappointment - a rock in a hole in the ground. The surrounding area is nice... more

Going to the Mayflower II was mandatory. After hearing about the wonders of Plimouth, and this being run by the, I had to go. The ship's amazing and it is great to see the replica, but the 1st person people! They barely acknowledged people, even when approached, and if they did say something it was quick. The man seemed only... more
