I went with my parents last year and we had a great time. The grounds are beautiful. When we went, they had local artists paint and design different gates all around the property. All were unique and creative. Inside the museum, they had a Saturday Evening Post cover exhibit featuring about a hundred Post covers. There were quite a few... more

If you like art that you can understand than the Norman Rockwell Museum is for you. It is full of all of Norman Rockwell's famous paintings and magazine covers. In his lifetime Norman Rockwell painted well known people such as President Kennedy and President Eisenhower but is most famous for painting the average person doing ordinary things. Located on the... more

On previous trips to the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts, I'd avoided the Norman Rockwell Museum because--well, what else did anyone really need to know about Rockwell? His icons of midcentury Americana were if anything too familiar, and I fancied myself, if not a fan of difficult modern art, then certainly superior to the master of the Saturday Evening Post cover.... more

Exceded my expectations. Visiting Norman Rockwell's museum was like a review of life over the past 100 years. My family thoroughly enjoyed every minute we were there. more

First, I must admit, I am a big Norman Rockwell fan, so my review may be a little biased. But, I did LOVE this museum!! I found it quite quaint, and had a lovely visit. If you are in the Berkshires, it's definitely worth a stop. Afterall, Norman Rockwell did spend the last 25 years of his life here. Many... more

I won't argue the value of this stop in Stockbridge for $15.00 in 15 minutes. But I will give a heads up on the utter rude and brash staff working there. They were not helpful and acted like prison guards not museum staffers. As an senior government agency official that deals with the public this one even shocked me... Unless... more

Reviewer below correct about $15 and 15 minutes. Few works from the decades that made him famous; plenty from old age when sight was dim and imagination dead: he copied journalist's photographs and sold them to general interest magazines. It's called Cashing in on your Reputation. DId fame rob him of his sense of humor and insight into ordinary lives?... more

The Norman Rockwell Museum is one of the main attractions in Stockbridge, but for $15 I would seriously consider saving your money. There are not very many Rockwell paintings on display (maybe 80 or so), and half of the exhibit was dedicated to a political cartoonist with apparently no relation to Norman Rockwell or Stockbridge. Although I do have a... more

We too were there on St Columbus day and really enjoyed the museum and exhibition of gates in the gardens. The museum is a joy and very well organised; the paintings are fantastic. However I have to agree that certain members of the staff (or maybe they are volunteers) are most rude - particularly in the gift shop. I would... more

The museum is on a beautiful piece of property, and my family (mom & dad, 11 and 7-year olds) really enjoyed walking all around, enjoying the sculpture, the wildlife habitat, and the views. It was a great spot to let our kids burn off some energy. The museum itself was not of great interest to them, however, although they did... more
