We live 10 minutes from here and there's never a time I don't have to fight with the kids to leave and have to promise we'll come back. No matter if it's the playground, the Chasm, the picnic area or the trails they just seem to love it. The playground is nice for the little kids and has picnic table... More

I have been to Purgatory Chasm many times. Its beautiful, well kept and the staff is handy with advice. I have traveled through with elementary school kids and everyone enjoyed it. The caves are fun to check out especially for the kids because I bet I'd get stuck! LOL I had plans to attend a mushroom event but, had to... More

My grandson liked it so much, we had to visit a second time. There is also a playground that my grandson enjoyed. He was the only one with enough energy left to play! If it is hot, take water with you.

I often come up to the Chasm to get cool in the summer(always feels cooler in the chasm) and go for a hike close to home. This is a wonderful place to enjoy the outdoors but it can get crowded on weekends.

This really is a great place to spend a few hours climbing thru the rocks and then walking the trails. the kids absolutely love it but I will be honest, it can be a little nerve racking if you have dare devils. It can be very dangerous if you climb high which I would not recommend. It is very beautiful... More

This is a great place to visit if you love nature. Be sure to wear grippy shoes as there are many rocks! The farther in you go, the less people there are. It can be crowded at the entrance. Unfortunately, you can find some trash in and around the chasm, but mostly a clean place. The visitor center across the... More

Rock climb for any level, hikes, kids parks, picnics and relax. Clean modern bathrooms OK parking as busy days mean more walking.

Great place to visit if you are looking for some outdoor time away from the city. Has plenty of short trails that are easy enough for children. Great place for dogs, but please keep them on lead if they don't listen to you very well!
