We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There is a wonderful bike path around the state forest. There are several convenient parking lots, from which you can bike or walk. Get a map and plan your route.

This should be a 5 star site and it could be with more focus from the state. My wife and I went for a bike ride on the 15 plus miles of paved trails and the I am sorry to report that they are mostly in disrepair. For an island that prides itself on the environment this is a shame. I tell people to leave the car on the mainland but with challenges like this I see their reason for wanting one.

I am a local. When I was a child the forest was great. Dense, thick pines, very pretty. An insect blight many years ago destroyed most of the old pines and now it is basically scrub oak. Not worth seeing.

The paved bike path in Manuel F. Correluus State Forest is an 11 mile loop thru open fields, shrub oak, and pine forests. Pretty flat except a mile or so along the Edgartown West Tisbury Rd. Biked during the week and weekend and maybe saw a half dozen riders. Parking along Barnes Rd, Ed/WT Rd, and Old County Road.

There is an extensive network of off road dirt trails and paved trails accessible via bike trails from Tisbury, Oak Bluffs, and Edgartown without road riding. Though there are some root rises and seams that make a very stiff road bike a little rough at times, this is a great ride, mostly shaded with little to no Vineyard traffic hassles. Highly recommended trip around the center of the island and main airport.

One activity I wanted to do on Martha's Vineyard was to ride a bike. Family members recommended the bike path through the Manuel Correllus State Forest. The bike bath offers shade and also natural trails. Be sure to stop on the southwest side to observe the Heath Hen statue. There are also horseback riding trails as well. Many of the bike paths on the island are narrow in the larger towns or non-existent and you have to ride on the side of the road. Correllus State Forest is the way to go if you want a safe and planned route. There are maps at points along the trail.

I enjoy biking on the Vineyard, but I find the main roads intimidating due to the blind curves and lack of a shoulder. THe bike path through the state forest is well maintained and I can enjoy the ride and the forest environment without any anxiety about car traffic. The paths allow for routes that loop around in many combinations, lengths to suit any energy level.
