Stunning setting that provides a gorgeous beach with strong waves and a calm inlet great for kids. It is a bit of a trek to reach either side so this may not be ideal for those with mobility issues. Must book parking passes in advance via the Trust's website ($20) and you'll have a choice of visiting during the morning (9am-2) or mid afternoon. The sand gets VERY hot so bring appropriate footwear and steer clear of the thick poison ivy that lines both paths. We enjoyed the beach side the most because it was clean and uncrowded. The kids enjoyed the kayaks and stand up paddleboards on the other side but I hated the plentiful files of gull poop, aggressive gulls, and murky water. Will definitely visit again

I enjoy quiet beaches with few people, Long Point Beach is one of them. There is something to be said about the sound of waves hitting the shore. So calming! My husband spotted several seals while in the ocean, which he enjoyed, but it made me a little worried because that means a shark may be nearby Stay close to the shore! There is a pond (better for children) but I didn't look for it. The drive is a bumpy one during the last 1.5 miles. I would recommend renting a vehicle made for the rough terrain or getting a taxi driver. The seagulls are aggressive about *your* food. I saw one fly off with a family size bag of chips. I couldn't pull my camera out fast enough. LOL! Lastly, bring beach chairs. I saw what looked like flying ants trying to nip at my legs every time I got out of the ocean. They went away once I was dry. I heard a man call them sand fleas. Overall, a peaceful hidden gem.

Turned on to this place by our taxi driver. It seems like it takes forever to get there once you start down the long, windy dirt road but this beach is truly a hidden gem. On one side is a fresh water pond. On the other side is the ocean so you have the best of both worlds! Like having a private beach.

It seems like it takes forever to get there once you start down the long, windy dirt road but this beach is truly a hidden gem. Get there early because the parking fills up fast. On one side is a fresh water pond. On the other side is the ocean so you have the best of both worlds! You can relax, swim, and/or rent canoes, kayaks or paddle boards...no snack shack so pack your own lunch. Think of the entrance & parking fees as a donation to worthy cause...

A great place a bit away from it all because you have to drive ten minutes down a sand dirt road. But it’s worth it for this Trustees area that has a fee to enter. Go for the day and have fun in the surf and among the sand and sun.

Super beach destination on a hot summer day. The property is across from the airport. It is located at the end of a packed sandy dirt road that brings you to a Wildlife refuge. One side is a beautiful panoramic beach on the ocean side and a more protected smaller beach on the pond side. The kids and adults will have a fun day at the beach in this pristine location. Remember to bring enough food, drinks and binoculars!

Drove all the way down a good 10 minutes on dirt road only to discover after we dragged ourselves down the long path to the pond and my daughter put her feet in the water it was closed by a man on an atv. They could have put a sign at main road and saved us the 40$ and long drive. The beach on ocean was beautiful but we wanted to actually swim and the surf is only for the expert swimmers. We did see seals and enjoyed beautiful weather but could have saved our money and gone to south beach which is same beach without the parking fee. Have come to this property before and always loved it just would have appreciated the heads up the pond was closed.

Did not find much wildlife, most likely due to our visit during end of October. But the drive to the place was nice, through winding single lane dirt roads. Thankfully we only had to cross one other car during the back and forth on the few miles dirt road. No wildlife, but had a nice walk.

We visited Long Point before high season, so we had to take the long narrow (bumpy!) dirt road in rather than the shorter road that is opened later in June. What was great was that we kind of had the place to ourselves except for the army corps of engineers that was looking for unexplored ordinance from WWII. We were looking for a swimming spot and made the long walk down to the ocean and to the heads of two ponds. Unfortunate, the ocean was too wild with surf and the ponds looked too brackish to enter. We enjoyed our long walk nonetheless.

Really a "hidden" gem. We went in via the "summer" entrance which was closed and eventually found the correct way. Very nice beach and pond looked nice for kayaking. I got in a nice run along the beach and out and back on Huges Thumb road (closed to traffic).
