Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), “the world’s leading, independent, non-profit organization dedicated to ocean research, exploration, and education”, will reopen 6 days/week (closed Sundays) from 11am-4pm starting May 28. Visitors will check in for walking tours at the Visitor Center, 93 Water Street (see map). Visitors will also be able to tour exhibits at the Ocean Science Discovery Center and Gift Shop on the recently renamed Marie Tharp Lane (Maury Lane on the map). One of these exhibits documents the discovery of the Titanic by WHOI’s Dr. Robert Ballard and the French National Institute of Oceanography on September 1, 1985. Note: Parking in Woods Hole is extremely limited and metered ($0.25 for 15 minutes with a 2-hour maximum); it’s less stressful to ride the WHOOSH Trolley.

This is a place not to be missed. A very interesting talk and film by one of the scientists about the work they do and how they found the Titanic. There are several displays to walk round which show aspects of their work and the use of their submersibles both manned and unmanned. A fascinating visit. Really near the harbour and ferry so is very convenient.

This place in the tiny town of Woods Hole on the water is amazing. This famed institution is involved in many scenarios around the world. Some great restaurants and things to see in this little town.My wife and i love to sit on the benches near the water and watch the boats coming and going. The ferry to the islands leaves from Woods Hole which my wife and i visit frequently.

We went to the center (as did a lot of other people), only to find the doors locked. It should have been open the day we visited.

We had a fun stop here. They had a little activity for the kids outside as we were walking in to teach them about water density and pH. The kids had fun doing that along with playing in Alvin the submarine and checking out the second floor. Another great stop in town where we spent about 45 minutes.

We were visiting Cape Cod, traveling with another couple and allowing the trip to unfold without 'over' scheduling ourselves. The charming town of Woods Hole offered some of our most surprisingly delightful moments: lobsters and beverages at Shuckers; quaint shops along the waterfront; and, most of all, a fabulous tour of the WHOI facility led by volunteer Paul Diegle.

My kids and I popped in for a visit while we were in town. My 2 1/2 year or and 6 year old enjoyed exploring the small submarine and walking around. The museum is tiny but it was enjoyed by all of us.

I was told one of the museums in woods hole, was home to captain Ballard, I believe his name was. First is that true, if so which museum is the correct one. I want to make sure I see the right one.
Thanks

Hello Bassguy19:
I believe Capt. Ballard is the director of the Centre for Marine Exploration at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. I would suggest contacting them with all your questions.
