What an amazing look into the past - love the streets of old Detroit!
Very nice museum to show Detroit's Historical Background. Came to see the Glancy Trains exhibit, cool layout but I thought was bigger. Very cool to walk through Detroit's history through brick, cobblestone, etc. The car exhibit was very neat and it had a exhibit devoted to old car commercials. We went when it was free!
We LOVE going to the Detroit Historical society. When the kids were little, we brought them a few times a year. Now we bring our nephews and niece!! You will learn things about Detroit and the area that you never hear about. Found out Detroit has been the leader of more than just the automoble industry. It has been in the forefront of inovation many times. Very cool place.
This is a little GEM in the heart of Detroit. An interesting way to spend an afternoon for a person or family.
Not a flasy museum, no spectacular exhibits. But good solid history in a pleasant presentation. Of course the Old Streets in the basement and the toy collection are unique and special.
Excellent history of Detroit! Wonderful for all ages... elementary children through adult
The displays show the limited budget with a lot of explanations and few eye-popping visuals. Auto-related exhibits and a walk of a Detroit Detroit in the 1800s (downstairs) are probably the best portions.
