I love Detroit's Greektown! I am from Chicago and I like Detroit's GreekTown Better then our Greektown! The food is great and a the street is super narrow with a oldworld effect!Don't forget a landbased casino too!Yes it is not a big place, and it's not super clean sububan chain like place, and thats why I love it! My wife is... more

I read these reviews and wonder what people are looking for when they visit a new city. Greektown is a small area in Detroit that has some fun Greek restaurants and lots of local Greek flavor. Nothing more and nothing less. It has history and a strong reflection of the heritage of the owners of these establishments - many who... more

We hoped to find an interesting area in Detroit to visit and get a cultural feel for the place. Being quite small, it does offer several restaurants, and the Greektown casino, which is a very nice casino. The People Mover is very easy to use, and provides access right at the casino's door. Trapper's Alley is a cool place, a... more

Somehow I keep getting suckered into going to greektown by different people that have never been there, and everytime, I just end up disappointed. Seriously, if you go to one of those nameless restaurants, check out the bathrooms. They are absolutely disgusting. It almost induces vomiting, from the point that . A basic dish like souvlaki and a beer will... more

We live in the Metro Detroit area & visit Greektown several times throughout the year. Parking is free at the Greektown Casino and from there, you can roam around Monroe St. between Beaubien & St. Antoine and find lots of places to eat (small eateries to nice restraurants, and we always head towards one of the bakeries for baklava!) and... more

Greektown is just one street alongside of the casino. Some of the restaurants have seen better days. But ..........if you go knowing that, you can have a good meal and fun. The pastry shoppe is terrific. There are decent places to eat - and some above average. Look for a staff that is , well, GREEK. Talk to the staff,... more

What do folks from Del Ray Beach know?! True there's no Sizzler, tacky T-shirt palace, or Beall's Outlet in Greektown. However, the food is fabulous and it is adjacent to the theater district, Hart Plaza (which hosts festivals all year round) and Fernadale/Royal Oak/Birmingham are just a quick trip up Woodward Ave. more

I read some of the reviews here and decided to check out Greektown on my one night in Detroit. First of all, it really is only 2 blocks long. There are some restaurants and the casino. If you're not there to gamble or eat, it will take you all of 2 minutes to walk down one side of the street... more

The only lively area downtown. Various restaurants on two blocks near the Greektown casino. I had a good pizza/salad combination and found a great pastry shop/bakery in the middle of the block. more
