Somehow I keep getting suckered into going to greektown by different people that have never been there, and everytime, I just end up disappointed. We live in the Metro Detroit area & visit Greektown several times throughout the year. Parking is free at the Greektown Casino and from there, you can roam around Monroe St. between Beaubien & St. Antoine and find lots of places to eat (small eateries to nice restraurants, and we always head towards one of the bakeries for baklava!) and... more

Greektown is just one street alongside of the casino. Some of the restaurants have seen better days. But ..........if you go knowing that, you can have a good meal and fun. What do folks from Del Ray Beach know?! True there's no Sizzler, tacky T-shirt palace, or Beall's Outlet in Greektown. However, the food is fabulous and it is adjacent to the theater district, Hart Plaza (which hosts festivals all year round) and Fernadale/Royal Oak/Birmingham are just a quick trip up Woodward Ave. more
