We returned this week from a wonderful two night stay on Mackinac Island. The Butterfly House was offered as an add-on to the carriage tour. It was well worth the extra money, ($5.50 I think). When you enter the conservatory, butterflies are alight everywhere. An amazing variety, color and size. Great photo opportunities! And, informative plagues that explain so much... more
I loved the Butterfly House. We visited there on our trip to the island and it was beautiful. It doesn't cost much to get in and if you keep your receipt, you can keep going back for free the rest of your stay on the island. We really enjoyed the butterfly house. They have such a large variety of butterflies in here that you just marvel at them. I sat on a bench & counted 13 different kinds that landed on me in 25 minutes. My kids loved it too. more
This was one of my favorite parts of my trip to Mackinac! It's a great place to take it easy for a while - you've been walking or biking all over the place - sit and relax and take in the sights.
