Saturday's farmer's market in downtown is great. You can find fresh baked breads, copper, or glass jewelry, produce, handmade home items, and all natural skin products.

They have beautiful parks and awesome buildings a photographers paradise
This city is quaint and pretty, but is also home to the largest wood-beam structure in the world (the Superior Dome). The restaurants are unique and yummy and quite fairly priced. The shops have nearly anything you could possibly need, and if the downtown doesn't handle all your shopping needs, head west to the "big-box" stores. The best part of...

Beautiful park and walking trail, complete with outdoor sculpture and art and a great playground for the kids along the lakeside of the downtown. Lots of interesting shops and restaurants, terrific food co-op, and we loved the farmer's market! You won't regret spending a day in downtown Marquette.
Many shops highlight Michigan artists, especially those from the U.P. We love those. Don't miss Moon Stones!
Marquette is the largest city in the UP and is a college town(Northern Michigan University). The people are very friendly and their are many shops to look around in. It's kind of a unique city with lots of nooks and crannies. If your in Marquette don't forget to try a Pasty, it's the local favorite and unique to the UP.
We did not have a great deal of time in Marquette during our last stay but we have been there previously and Marquette is awesome. If you need to stay, Marquette is an awesome place to stay. We were happy with the convenient location of food, fuel, and lodging and anyone would be satisfied staying here! We would love to...

The shopping wasn't what I expected for a touristy town. I imagined it would be comparable to Petoskey or even Traverse but it definitely didn't compare to either of those towns. Although, there were lots of shops.
This is a true small town, downtown. Lots of mom and pop stores, a few places to eat and drink and close to the bay and water edge.
If you get a few moments - get out of the car and walk around downtown Marquette. Look up and enjoy the wonderful architecture! Go down to the waterfront and see the lower harbor loading dock and take advantage of some pretty good restaurants. Truely enjoyed our visit - and particularly enjoyed downtown Marquette.
