I spent one night at the Root Institute. My visit to Bodhgaya was brief and I wish I could have stayed longer. The accommodations are basic, but very clean. My room was cottage-like with an outside entrance. The bath/shower rooms were nearby. Nice gardens and ambiance. A perfect escape to tranquility. Stayed 3 nights at Root Institute. Can't recommend this highly enough. Staff and volunteers were incredibly attentive, professional and welcoming. It is not far from the main town centre, you simple walk down the dirt road and a bike rickshaw comes shortly to take you in. After reviewing the other accommodation in Bodhgaya this is by far the best.

Took a week-long intro to Buddhism course here. Found the rooms very basic, but comfortable. Some of the best food we've had during our whole time in India. Courses professionally run and worthwhile. A bit out of town, but cheap/quick cycle rickshaw ride into town.
