The upper and lower falls are very beautiful at Tahquamenon Falls State Park but if you want peace and quiet while camping stay at the the Michigan DNR Rivermouth campground. Very beautiful and just across the road from Lake Superior. The town of Paradise is very close with a grocery and gas. The camping at the upper and lower falls... more

We drove up from Mackinac to see this waterfall. The trail was paved and my 2 year old loved being able to "hike" by himself to Upper Falls. He was facinated at being so close to see and hear the falls. There was a small education center which actually had a lot of facts. On our way out there was... more

I hiked the trail between the two falls, starting at the Upper Falls and ending at the Lower Falls. The Upper Falls are one of the largest waterfalls east of the Mississippi. And they were magnificent. The color of the water may be more famous than the size of the waterfall. However, I prefer the Lower Falls because I thought... more

I recently visited Tahquamenon Falls State Park for then umpteenth time..lol. It is one of those places you do not get tired of. One very beautiful waterfall. I want to encourage in this review to first time visitors that the water is not dirty-the brown/gold coloring (tea colored) is from the tannin in the trees that form the bank for... more

Well marked paved trails. Don't miss the Upper Falls. If you have time, also go to the Lower Falls and rent a rowboat ($12) to head out to the island. Take lots of pictures. Plan to eat at the Brewpub while you're there. Its got to be the best restaurant in a state park. I started with the sampler of... more

Tahquamenon State Park is at the edge of town, great camping and beautiful falls. Very large park on a river, campsites right on the riveredge. One night we were delighted to the sight of Northern Lights over the river, made great photos. The town is very small, but very nice. Lighthouse at the end of Whitefish Point, great birding in... more

Tahquamenon Falls Rivermouth Unit campsites along the river are beautiful and less traffic/crowds - highly recommended! A stunning park all around, although agree the crowds around the Falls themselves can be a lot during popular travel times. more

The Falls, themselves (both of them) are well worth viewing, but 99% of the crowds and people are clustered in, perhaps 2% of the vast wilderness area that encompasses the State Park. A great network of trails exists, lakes, giant pines, not 1/2 mile from the parking lot...even a pleasant hiking trail between the two. I have been coming to... more

Visited the falls in late August and we had a great time. Very few bugs and not many people although the large parking lot indicates it could get crowed during peak weekends. There are two separate entrances for the falls. One entrance is for the Upper falls, which is the bigger of the two by far. There is a small,... more

This is a great place to camp but if you go in early June bring your heater as it can dip into the 30's at night! Falls are great , we even saw a bear cub, while on a hike! Be sure to stop at the Brewery at the Upper Falls-great beer and food. We camped for 5 days. During... more
