Great value for the money. Rock outcropping you climb up. Gift shop at base of rock has reasonable priced souvenirs.
Liked this more when I was a little kid. Not so much now. The Whole thing was a giant tourist trap. Although I did manage to get a few good photos.
Get your body going walking up all these steep steps lol, but then you get to see such a beautiful view. I went back in 2006 with my dad, it was only 50 cents a person at that time. Took so many amazing pictures also with the cool Paul Bynan and Babe the Blue Ox statues. Defiantly a must see.
we went in October, nice and empty, did not realize how steep it was to the top! I thought i was scared of heights but my husband found out he was the one. It was very scary and beautiful at the same time. Beautiful views, and we very proud of our sticker saying we climbed castle rock. And a big... More
If you like good views definitely do this. If you don't like rickety hand rails and a steep climb up what felt like a million stairs, then don't do this. But, for $1, it could be good to wear your children out getting to the top!
I've been to Castle Rock on and off since I was a small child. It is pretty much the same and a 'must do' in my mind. It is only $1.00 per person to climb up to the top. The view is incredible! If you are not in decent shape, there are some rest points along the way. When you... More
Stopped here while touring around after a business meeting. As mentioned you pay $1 at the tourist shop at the base, walk through the store and then up the stairs. I didn't find it difficult at all but if you're out of shape I can see it could be a challenge, and sections of the steps are not quite level.... More
Think you're in great physical shape? Walk to the top of Castle Rock in less than 15 minutes! We both thought we were going to have a heart attack. An unbelievable cardio work out...but the view once at the top is breathtaking. Worth the climb.
This is a little place to stop. It rises 195.8 feet (59 m) over the waters of nearby Lake Huron. You pay a $1 per person to get in. There are around 175 steps to get to the top. The steps are not steep.
