This is such a good little gem in TC. I took my 2 year old daughter here and she had such a good time.

What a delightful little hands-on museum! There is a lot to do for young kids, including a separate area for crawlers, a big water table where kids can put in tiles to redirect the water, boats to play on, a little lighthouse with dress-up clothes and kitchen stuff, and a new magnetic wall where kids can make a "trail" with...

Good for a rainy day with kids or grandkids but you need to create the "fun" with what's available. We went this last summer and it was a bit "worn and tired" and we were disappointed that some activities weren't working. (Especially for the entry fee.) Maybe they are making upgrades.
We went Sept 1/ 2011. Thought it would be great for my 2 small girls. The woman took my money and we walked in and thought where is the rest of the place! Went around the corner 4 of the 6 displays were not working. My 3yr old said after 5 min lets go Daddy Dont waste your $$
We're sorry that you had a negative experience. Toward the end of summer 2011 several of our exhibits reached the end of their useful life. Those exhibits have since been replaced. We hope that you (and others) will the experiences at the Great Lakes Children's Museum to be more positive now.

My family and I were so excited to visit this children's museum since Traverse City is so beautiful. What a disappointment! Definitely not worth the money. None of the interactive stations worked and everything just looks run-down. They should not have been charging money if the stations were not working but thats not likely to happen. Please get your act...

Took my 4 children (ages 8, 5, 3, 1) to the museum on a hot day and loved the 2 1/2 hours we stayed and played! The water table was a huge hit, the openness of the place was great to keep an eye on them all, and I learned a few things myself! Some may say the price is...

Our family went to the museum 2yr old and 5 yr old the price is expensive considering how much there is to do. Our boys had a great time, their favorite thing was the river scene on the floor they tried to catch the fish. The water table was fun and so was the house. Would be a great to...

Our children are young (1 & 3) so they really aren't much into the "science" thing yet, but we thought this would be a good place to take them to play as it was too cold to hit any of the playscapes or the beach. We spent about 2 hours there, my husband thought it was a bit pricey ($6...

There's lots of fun stuff to do for a smaller children's museum. We were pleasantly surprised that Traverse City even had a hands-on museum. The girls and I played at the water table for a long time. Our youngest loved playing dress-up in the lighthouse. Close to town and free parking made it easy to get there. Both girls want...

A good attempt to have a scientific type of experience for the kids. the previous review of the WET water cycle is bunk. the kids dont get wet and the water cycle experience is inpenetrable to a child, it is not very well doen, being a big hampster tube with a slide and some thunder and rain type decorations. the...
