This place has some excellent train displays including a giant articulated steam locomotive. And, connected to the Children's museum, you can make it a 3/4 or whole day trip. Unfortunately, you'll have to search for restaurants for lunch. Avoid the quick tourist train that just goes to the creek. It's a waste of time and money. You might want to... more

The train museum was one of the highlights of my visit to Duluth! It's within easy walking distance of the rest of downtown Duluth and is joined with several museums at the Cultural Center/Train Depot. This is a nice railroad museum in Duluth. They also run excursions to Two Harbors under the name North Shore Scenic RR. (http://66.116.202.38/Home/Home.asp). more
