I agree with the last review. I don't understand what is so disturbing about the Walker. My wife and I live in Minneapolis and probably visit the museum at least once a week. I thought it was really interesting to see that someoene wrote that the art in the gallery is disturbing. Yes, some of it is, but why is that a negative? It is a very provocative gallery and it displays alot of pop art. If you want something more classical, go to MIA if you want to see more 'cutting edge'... more
There was a Picasso tour showing while I was staying in MN. It was great to see real picasso's on tour. I found a few things in the art center very intresting. I thoroughly agree with the two previous reviewers who said that this was a waste of a nice building and that the art was disturbing. The Walker Art Center gets a lot of great publicity, and since I love art, I made it a point to go. I couldn't wait to leave. more
You will be dissapoited if you go there hoping to see good art, they don't even have much of a variety of bad art. Waste of time, money, and frankly, a waste of a nice building. more
The best part of the Walker is free: the sculpture garden just north of the building is very good, and has a number of interesting pieces on display, as well as a small conservatory.
