I love watching the falls of St. Anthony. It is such a great place to visit; it's the largest drop on the Mississippi; the history is detailed and significant because its been at the heart of Minneapolis for about 170 years; the outdoor walking information on the east bank is very informative as well.

No visit to Minneapolis is complete without a view of the falls. Grain from the Dakotas got milled into flour here and the rest is history.

The Falls, though diminished in size, is the reason for Minneapolis and the flour industry which made the City grow. It still remains a wonderful spot, winter or summer, when viewed from the Guthrie Theatre's Endless Bridge (free) or from James J. Hill's Stone Arch Bridge. Definitely worth a visit.

The falls are great to look at and are close by to the Guthrie and Mill City ruins. The area brings alot of people to it to walk and look at the falls. It is an easy trip in the city - between downtown and Northeast Minneapolis.

Nice clean river, practical use of falls, and good looking view. Not bad for an inner city location AND one with a practical purpose...

This is a cement dam which covers the rocks of what was a cascade of rocks in the Mississippi river over which the water ran and fell a ways. It is still dramatic and can best be viewed as you take a wonderful stroll upon The Stone Arch Bridge crossing the river just down stream from the falls. You get... More

Nearby bars and restaurants on either side of the river. Very peaceful place to walk around - summer or winter.
