The Schell's Brewery is one of the last small, family owned breweries in Minnesota. It is well worth a visit. The factory still produces some of the best beer outside of Germany and the grounds are worth a stroll. There are factory tours and of course each tour allows the adults to sample the fine product. There is also a... More

Visited New Ulm, MN last weekend (04/20-04/22 2012) with my husband and neighbors. While in New Ulm we toured the Brewery-great people, great tour and of course the beer was great. The town on New Ulm was very welcoming, spent most of our time at the B&L Bar and were welcomed like family. Friday evening a new keg from Schell... More

Going to Schell's Brewery is not just about the beer. The brewery is surrounded by a gorgeous park full of both perennial and annual flowers. Depending on when you go, there are so many things in bloom. To add to the visual delight, the tour is informative and historic. This is the nation's second oldest continuously run family owned brewery.... More

The brewery is one of New Ulm's must see sites. The grounds are beautiful especially when in full spring/summer bloom or during the Christmas season when lit up with luminaries. The brewery tour is excellent along with a stop in the AWESOME Tap Room. Their gift shop is one of the best around and the only place (besides online) that... More

The Schell Brewery is a place I always take visitors from Germany. They are impressed by our American heritage of beer making here in America and the Schell Brewery is certainly a great place to explore that heritage. Don't like beer? They also serve samples of a really terrific root beer (don't expect your German friends to warm up to... More

This is a decent brewery tour - full of lots of history and light on the mechanics of brewing. It ends with a generous tasting session. The brewery grounds themselves are really pretty, too, and would be worth allowing a little extra time to walk around.

There's not much to do or see in New Ulm, but the brewery was fun. I'm not sure I'd think so if there were other activities to compare it to, but we were pretty desperate. The guide made it fun, and you get a glass of beer when you're done. It's worth the 2 hours and $3.

Had lunch at the Keiserhoff and went for the tour and tasting at the brewery with our grown children. We had a great time and learned alittle about brewing beer at the same time. Well worth the time and very much worth the money.
