Bought the bee-honey that the nuns sell. Delicious. Do not leave without purchasing the creamed honey for toast and bagels. Heavenly!!!!

A lovely place to celebrate mass with the Sisters of St. Francis. Peaceful and open. 11 am daily
The grounds and the buildings are beautiful ... nice place to attend concerts.
As far as I know the interior is no longer open to the public. With sections leased by Mayo and and other sections still used as a home for the Sisters. However the architecture is beautiful, it sits on a wooded hilltop presiding over Rochester like a castle. Rumor has it that Hugh Heffner once tried to buy the place,...

The Franciscan sisters built a facility that is reminiscent of what one would find in Italy. The chapel is beautiful and if you have a chance try to take a tour of the facility. This is a wonderful respite from the high tech Mayo Clinic.
The tour can get long. I generally like to explore on my own, but the beauty and architecture are worth the visit. There is also a lot of history here as the Sister's of Saint Francis are the original founders of the Mayo Clinic.
The grounds are stunning. The building itself is also beautiful. There are numerous rooms with antiques and history of the Franciscans. The sisters there are so pleasant and love to show their home off. Probably not a place to bring children unless you would like to show them a bit of hisotry of the catholic church.
