The trails took us right to the fall and we also headed to the shoreline of Superior. It was beautiful even in the middle of winter.

Beautiful park with nice hiking trails, beach, gorges. You can swim, dive, and fish at the gorges.

We stayed at Temperance in August. There were a lot of bugs here, so be prepared for that. The good park about the park is that it stays fairly cool at night so we were able to wear long sleaves shirts and pants and keep the bugs off of us, but the bugs really bothered the dog. Make sure you hike on both sides of the highway! Reasonable hike with kids too!

We loved this park when we visited not long ago. We were working on the geocaching Wildlife Safari series and it brought us here. It had several very beautiful waterfalls and excellent trails to go hiking on. This was one of our favorite parks to visit on our tour of the North Shore and we will be back for sure.

This state park had some hidden waterfalls that were very unique. You could hear them, but you just couldn't see them. We continued up the river and had a great time hoping on rocks in the river. The water level was very low so we really took advantage and explored the river bed.

This was our favorite park on the north shore. Beautiful hike along the river gorge, but lots of steep drops, so keep the kids close on the trail. My kids loved playing at the mouth of the river. Definitey a park not to miss.

We have been camping at Temperance every summer for five years; it is NOT a rustic experience, as the one writer pointed out. There are wilderness experiences for those who want them at other parks (like Crosby Manitou or any BWCA type camping experience).
