Very educational and one can appreciate what it is like to work in an uonderground enviroment.

We drove in on a lark but unfortunately the underground tour was closed for 2011 for repairs. The surface tour (which was given by a masters history student) was great, especially if you like machines/technology and seeing the evolution of mining over time.

I have been to the Soudan Underground Mine twice in one year. It is absolutly amazing. The tour is fairly cheap and it is about an hour and a half. You will see how the miners worked and the working conditions. It is without a doubt an unforgetable experience!
