You can lay on the beach by the river, ride bikes, hike, bbq and so much more. If you walk to the top you can see some pretty sights.

Great place for the adventurer or to bring the family
This is THE place to mountain bike in STL. It's an oasis in the middle of an urban area. The Meramec River divides this park and Tyson's Park/Lone Elk and are a great place to exercise and enjoy nature. No camping at either site, just day use areas. Also Castlewood can be extremely crowded on nice days/weekends.
Best place to bike and hike!!! Nice place to spend an afternoon. Love the river views.
This park has a few nice views of the Meramec River from some of the bluff trails, but this place is a little wild. There is a lot of traffic, paths cross roads, lots of hikers, runners, bikers. The river is not suitable to play in - over the past few years there have been several drownings.
It is wonderful...

I LOVE biking here. There are trails for all riding levels. The beauty of this park is wonderful and riding along the river just adds to a great experience. Plenty of wildlife to see and you can bike for hours without seeing another person. Very peaceful.
This park runs along the Meramec River, with a trail ascending high onto sheer limestone cliffs, which overlook the river and the railroad track. The park is both breathtaking and steeped in history. It is that rare park that was once a crazy summer resort, packed with people across the river at Lincoln Beach and on the parkside Lincoln Lodge...

Fun hiking trails with great views of the Missouri River from high above.
A day-use (no camping) Missouri state park (under DNR). Displays great vistas from a high narrow ridge of steep sheer bluffs, that were cut out on one side by the Meramec River, and the other, by the spring-fed Keifer Creek. Lots of trails for hikers and bicyclists. Good fishing where Keifer Creek converges with the Meramec. That is all.
Nice quiet area with good picnic areas and hiking. A place to enjoy nature and birdwatching. The river that runs near the park is more treacherous than it seems! Don't swim or wade without proper life preservers.
