The lake offers fishing, swimming and boating. The park offers hiking, mountain biking, and abundant opportunities to see wildlife. An interpretive shelter helps visitors understand the petroglyphs left behind by the area’s inhabitants more than 1,500 years ago. The park also offers campsites and cabins for overnight stays. « less

Unlike many parks - which are developed as tourist attractions, thousand hills is clean, user friendly and still pristine. The wooded areas are largely untouched. Even the trails are minimally marked, keeping nature to stand on her own. It's a beautiful place and a treasure.

The wonderful early warm weather has been great for the Park this spring. We put our pontoon boat in the water even before the marina opened. Spent a great day on the lake, redbuds were beautiful, fish were biting. It's just a short distance from town, so it makes going out something we can do after we leave the office... More

Take time to check out the park, it is beautiful, a good place for kids, and a fun place to spend a day.

It was okay, we were there in the off-season, but it was unseasonably warm. I thought it was large, spacious, and quite pretty regardless.

There is a lot to do at Thousand Hills. In the summer there is a swimming beach. This is not one of my favorite things because the beach is not very good, but it can still be fun. There is a marina where you can rent canoes, paddle boats, fishing boats, and other kinds of boats. The rental fees are... More
