This living history weekend is one of the best I have attended. There are so many craftsmen showing German skills from the past. You can take your time and watch the craftsmen at work. I was looking at a flier for these Deutsch Country Days and noticed that "ACTIVE MILITARY" are given a discount for enterance to this activity. I am a retired military veteran and I also know a lot of disabled Veterans, and we have to pay full price because we have already served our country and have been injured or medically... More

It was our first visit to Missouri in October of 2008, but it won't be the last. A long drive, but well worth it. I'm glad I brought my camera, because I was able to take a piece of history home with me to Maryland. Beautiful landscapes, trees---just a memorable and unforgettable experience. This is a festival that everyone in our family enjoys. From the gorgeous fall foliage to the covered bridge, there is beauty everywhere. Our children enjoy stepping back in time--washing clothes in a washtub, dipping candles, making rope--it's all there and much, much more.
