"Titans of the Ice Age" was a great exhibit. Very informative with many hands on opportunities. After enjoying the special exhibit we viewed other sections of the museum and learned many facts concerning St. Louis history. Great place to visit and child friendly, with activities to keep your child occupied and learning! For Civil War exhibit lovers don't miss "The... More

I went to do research on my family history. And indeed, there was a cart full of files. The staf, upon the mention that I would like to see some files on my father, had a cart full of everything pertaining to him. What if I had decided to not drive across town in slushy weather? Such kind good hearted,... More

Good food, reasonable prices, limited menu. Ask about soup of the day for lunch

We took a group of 5th gradersw here as part of their field trip. The staff was excellent to work with from planning through the finish. The kids had a nice time and I would like to go back without them to explore a little more.

Not worth your time, didn't pay extra for the Civil War display, so can't evaluate. Displays were busy, and crowded. Staff, nonchalant. Unimpressive. Lot of info on World Fair.

A very nice museum in the beautiful setting of Forest Park. While the museum is free, there is a fee for some of the special exhibits. The Civil War exhibit was extremely well put together with multimedia maps showing the war from different perspectives, especially including African American and local. The photography/audio exhibit on hunger looked simple but after listening... More

This was the only museum we had time to visit during a short trip through St Louis and it was worthwhile. It takes a bit of effort to locate the museum on the north side of Forest Park-the site of the 1904 World's Fair. The second floor has a good overview of the exploration of the Louisiana Purchase territory and... More

I was there Wednesday with motorcoach group. Had limited amount of time so took in the civil War display, which was very well done. Would love to go back and spend more time but did appreciate the time I was able to spend there.

The world's fair permanent exhibit is my favorite part of this museum. After looking at this go next door to the visitor center for more information on the world's fair and then tour Forest Park. Otherwise, the History Museum has beautiful sculptures and mesmerizing art on the floor. The rotating exhiibits are well done. This is a good 1-2 hour... More
