We enjoyed the riding cave tour. The tour guide was funny and engaging. It was a nice alternative to a walking tour since one of our family members has mobility issues. Souvenir photos were only $10. more

Okay tour for those having limited mobility, but others will find far better cave tours in southwest Missouri. Full price at Fantastic Caverns is extremely overpriced. Marvel cave at Silver Dollar City is much better along with many other caves. more

Reasonably fun and well worth about half of what they charge for it, about $22 in 2008. Our Jeep-powered tram ran out of propane and our guide hiked himself back out to get help, having failed to make radio contact. A bit interesting that a tram-load of visitors was left alone, but at least we're not still down there. Seems... more

08/20/08 - Hard to judge. This was my first cavern experience. Went as a side trip since the major of people I was with wanted to see it. I'm not much for closed in places and being underground so the about 45 minutes tour certainly helped with that issue. The jeep is powered by Propane (I asked). The positive points... more

Amazing, interesting, and breathtaking. Go early in the day, our tour guide was worn out and loopy by 5pm. I would have preferred a walking trip considering the short distance we covered. I would also have appreciated a more formal, informative guide. And while the motion picture was interesting from the pictures I felt it wasn't needed because I read... more

Fantastic Caverns is very interersting. We have toured a few caves and caverns in the past and I must say I liked the option to sit and ride around and view the inside of the cave. First, I must say the trams are PROPANE powered, not GAS as someone else mentioned in their review. GAS powered trams would not even... more

This was OK for a cave if you don't feel like walking. but overall was not very entertaining. There are better caves in the area as others have mentioned, but this one is great if you don't want to exert yourself. more

This attraction has a large parking lot, many employees and a slick commercial patter. They take your picture on the way into the cave and try and sell it to you for $10 on the way out. The ONE AND ONLY benefit is that you get to ride on GAS powered trams. Why in the world they do not use... more

If you have mobility problems go to Fantastic Caverns. You ride through this cave. Otherwise, if you want to visit a cave go somewhere else, like Crystal Cave, also in the immediate Springfield area. Fantastic Caverns is only mildly interesting and they subject you to a video midway through the tour. more
